Program Chair Bill Connors, introduced the guest speaker of the morning, John Carlos. John is a native of Birmingham and is the former liaison for the United States Green Building Council. Mr. Carlos began GreeningDetroit.com about two years ago. “GreeningDetroit.com is an online directory and informational / educational portal designed for Metro Detroit, providing sustainable solutions, products and services, green news and information and helpful hints for homes and businesses.”
We want to do our part, when we can, to preserve the planet as noted by the number of blue boxes you see out on trash pickup day. We are always looking for a better life in the form of cleaner air, lower heating bills and/or less pollution. GreeningDetroit.com is a place to go where you can find products and services that help you to reduce consumption in your home and/or business.
John showed us how easy it is to go to www.GreeningDetroit.com and with a click here and a click there you get plenty of information on how to reduce your heating bills or your electric bills. Where to go to find the products you need to accomplish your goals and make a greener place to live. There is a place to click that will list a calendar of greening events coming along or read about organizations and government groups that are actively working to make our environment a cleaners place. Watch videos and or find green jobs if that is your intent.
If you will go to www.GreeningDetroit.com and just look at some of the things and articles that are there, you will be very pleased. John is always looking for more companies and products to list in the director. To become listed in the directory call 248-203-2727 or visit the “Become Listed” section on the website. I visited the website and it is very informative. It’s time has come, we need a place to go on the web to help answer those questions like where to buy such products or who to seek out for services such as adding insulation. Answers to our questions or how can I/we do our part within our own homes to help make this a greener community. Recycling is just one of the many ways we can help and there are many more ways which you will find by visiting their website. We thank John and Sally for taking their time to come and share their program with us.
