Valentine’s Day gives a nice reason to show someone how much you care for them. It need not be expensive or showy, just thoughtful to others and the planet!
Start the day off with organic coffee – organic coffee is good for the environment and better for you than regular coffee. Organic coffee is coffee that is grown with organic farming standards, and restrictions on the use of fertilizers, chemicals and pesticides.
Instead of buying a store bought card, send an e-card or better yet make your own cards with things around the house.
Check out your local farmers market for fresh flowers, chocolates and special handmade gifts. This not only benefits your sweetie but your whole community.
Try something different; instead of buying perfume try using enchanting fragranced essential oils. Essential oils are distilled from plants, shrubs, flowers, roots, bushes and seeds. They are oxygenating and help transport nutrients to the cells in our body.
Tired of giving gifts that just sit around the house and do nothing? Why not give gift certificates/cards for something special such as facial or a massage.
Create a nice relaxing atmosphere using soy candles, this is not only romantic but also saves energy! Soy beans are grown and processed into soy wax in the U.S. This is one of the most important benefits of soy candles.
Last but not least why not try some of the organic wines and vodkas that are out now. Organic wines are of course made with organic grapes, vodkas are made with white corn, pick one or both of these products with ingredients grown in the U.S., this also helps support our local farmers.
Some people think that Valentine’s Day is too commercial, I do not think that we recognize the people that we love as much as we should. Valentine’s Day, to me, is a great way to remember to really show how much we care for one another.
