Young Detroit Builders is hosting a special viewing of this Sunday’s episode of ABC’s newest hit show, ‘Secret Millionaire.’ The event will take place this Sunday, March 13, from 7-9:30pm at The Magic Stick in Detroit.
Our organization will be featured on Sunday’s episode. The show focuses on a wealthy individual who gives up all worldly possessions for a week and volunteers at a nonprofit in a poor community. It will air this Sunday at 8pm on ABC (locally WXYZ Channel 7).
YDB was one of several Detroit non-profit organizations highlighted in this upcoming episode of ‘Secret Millionaire.’ The show, which made its debut last Sunday, reached 12.7 million viewers, beating CBS’ popular “Amazing Race” and “Undercover Boss.”
The event will also include a special tribute to our wonderful Program Coordinator, Rowland Watkins Jr., who passed away unexpectedly this past week. His contribution to YDB, the City of Detroit and the city’s youth was unwavering.
Young Detroit Builders is an affiliated non-profit organization of YouthBuild USA. Founded in 1993 by Beverly Manick, YDB assist disadvantaged youth between the ages of 18-24 receive construction training, job placement opportunities, life skills and earning their GED.
