I remember hearing somewhere that in order to save the environment that Jennifer Aniston brushes her teeth in the shower. So, I set out to see if it was true.
Yup. Sure enough she does just that. At the Live Earth Concert in ’07 she announced “I take a three-minute shower. I even brush-wash-brush my teeth while I shower. Every two minutes in the shower uses as much water as a person in Africa uses for everything in their life for a whole day.” Point taken.
I’m thinking that in some cases it’s good to retain water.
I’m probably not going to start brushing my teeth in the shower but I am going to shut the tap off while brushing my teeth. According to the EPA the average bathroom faucet flows up to a rate of 2 gallons a minute, and if you shut off the tap while brushing your teeth in the morning and at bedtime you’ll save 8 gallons of water a day. That’s 240 gallons a month – well you get the idea. I’m thinking that in some cases it’s good to retain water.
