This year is off to an exciting start for the Ann Arbor coalition. In March, the U.S. Department of Energy approved our annual Clean Cities survey and the results were astounding. In 2010 Washtenaw County – the Ann Arbor Clean Cities operating region – collectively displaced 3.1 million gallons of petroleum. This number is up 1.7 million gallons from the 2009 annual survey, more than a 100% increase. While we are very pleased with these petroleum reductions numbers, we are also just as proud to have reduced 13, 233 tons of greenhouse gas emissions from being released into our community’s air.
Thank you to all of the local area contributors for helping make the 2010 annual survey a success.
