ETA International will be hosting an annual Education Forum in Greencastle, Indiana on October 20-22, 2011 at The Inn at DePauw. The Education Forum is a world class technical education conference. The event offers hands on workshops and presentations by industry professionals covering a wide spectrum of technologies.
The Education Forum is the focal point for educators and technical professionals to learn about and train for emerging technologies. Educators and technicians will be able to discuss classroom implementation strategies, to network and collaborate with industry professionals, as well as to have access to training and speaking sessions with industry experts. Attendees of the Education Forum include; faculty in technology programs, college representatives, technicians, program development specialists, industry trainers and managers, workforce development personnel, manufacturers, and other industry professionals.
ETA has developed an exciting subject line-up for this year’s Education Forum including: Electric Vehicle Technology, Smart Grid, Smart Home, Alternative Energy, Fiber Optics, Intelligent Utility Networks, and Creativity Thinking.
Jay Warmke, founder of Blue Rock Station- a living sustainability laboratory featuring an Earthship, will be presenting the Keynote Address: When the Bio-Mass Hits the Wind Turbine. This presentation will discuss the economy’s rapid shift to green technologies, what to expect, and how to prepare.
With the recent announcement of ETA’s new Electric Vehicle Technician certification the Education Forum will offer two Train-the-Trainer workshops on the Electric Vehicle certification; Electric Vehicle Drivetrain Specialist – Hands-On and Curriculum. These sessions will be invaluable to the educator seeking to train students for the jobs of the future!
Also new this year, in cooperation with Motorola, ETA will be offering the Motorola Site Installation Practices Workshop (R56). Motorola technicians and shops will benefit from having this workshop offered to them at a significantly reduced price.
The 2011 Education Forum will also include the Annual Membership Meeting and the Awards Banquet. The Awards Banquet will feature the announcement of the Annual Awards winners such as the Norris R. Browne Memorial Technician of the Year award and the Walter Wallace Medeiros Memorial Educator of the Year award.
