Marina D’ Or of Spain – a six billion dollar enterprise offering a wide range of vacation and leisure accommodations has just received multiple shipping containers of LED lights from Michigan based LED lighting manufacturer Clean Light Green Light (CLGL) for the most extensive lighting retrofit of Spain’s vacation and leisure property sector which will result in substantial revenues for both companies.
CLGL was identified as the LED manufacturer of choice almost a year ago by the Marina D’ Or Renewable Energy division after their engineering team conducted exhaustive testing on products form 30 world wide LED vendors. This shipment represented the fist significant purchase through this alliance between the two companies, and is slated for comprehensive retrofits of all Marina D’ Or’s hotel holding sin Spain including the Tran Duque, several restaurants and a casino.
Spain continues to lead in energy efficiency initiatives in Europe as well as globally. In April of this year the Spanish government revealed an energy efficiency plan that specifically addresses LED retrofits as one of the targeted measures to save nearly €11.48 billion ($16.4 billion), and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 36.4 million tons by 2020. In addition, last month the European Investment Bank together with the country’s Spanish Energy Saving and Diversification Institute, launched a holding fund designed to aid renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in ten regions in Spain boding well for Marina D’ Or’s Renewable Energies division.
As in international real estate development firm with 35 properties in 21 countries, Marina D’ Or has a significant global presence and the Renewable Energy Division is executing energy efficiency projects not only for the company’s holdings but also for projects in the global commercial marketplace. Just last month Marina D’ Or Renewable Energies announced a partnership with Dubai Habtoor Trading Enterprises to develop renewable energy projects in Dubai, the Arab Emirates and other Middle East Countries.
