LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) ND Forum II, “MAKING LEED® ND HAPPEN AT YOUR DEVELOPMENT”brings together top experts in the field for an intensive one day interactive workshop packed with practical strategies and tools for developers, planners and financiers to understand how LEED® Neighborhood Development brings value and great return on investment, as well as how to initiate it in projects across the region.
Participants – who will include developers, lenders, investors, planners, consultants, and government officials – will gain a solid understanding of the LEED® ND rating system, its underlying principles, and the advantages it can bring to their projects. Specific project case studies will demonstrate the real-world success of LEED® Neighborhood Development, and planners will be on hand to explain how to address zoning and regulatory issues.
The event will open with remarks from Doug Farr, one of the authors of the LEED® Neighborhood Development system and a pre-eminent authority in the field of Smart Development. Farr will give an overview of the new LEED® ND rating system, concisely explaining its objectives, functionality, and the specific advantages it brings to bear on the development process. Attendees will then have their choice of participating in three of six breakout sessions followed by a concluding panel discussion between session presenters and area practitioners and faculty.
MAKING LEED® ND HAPPEN AT YOUR DEVELOPMENT – How Developers Can Leverage Its Advantages to Add Value and Higher Investment Returns to their Projects promises to be one of the most important events of the year for developers who want to participate in the growing green revolution in community development.
