Creative Composite Solutions, a green building material company headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona has just completed a super insulated energy efficient home in downtown Rochester.
The home which is a first of its kind in Michigan incorporated the patent pending CCS Fibrawall technology to build the homes exterior shell. The shell is comprised of 8-10” of polystyrene foam coated with a proprietary cement material which provides the home with extremely high insulation values (R-50 to R-60), high strength and durability. The home has many attractive architectural features while blending right in with its neighbors, however is much more energy efficient.
Heating/cooling costs for this home are expected to be considerably less than those of neighboring homes due to the extreme insulating factors. Fibrawall provides builders and designers many architectural capabilities due to the ability to form the foam into any shape desired while then coating the foam with the composite concrete material on-site. There will be an open house 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Jan. 14 and 15 at the home at 418 Oak St., Rochester.
