This February, do two things that will do your heart good – pay off your library fines and help the hungry. From Feb. 13 through 25, the Ferndale Public Library will accept donations of non-perishable, unexpired, unopened food items as payment for library fines. For each $1.00 owed, one food item will be accepted.
The donations will be given to the Zion Lutheran Church’s Food Pantry for distribution to the needy in the community. Zion Lutheran works in partnership with Gleaners to provide food for the needy. Items cannot be accepted to pay for lost library materials, printing, faxing or other library services. Food items will not be accepted before Feb. 13 or after Feb. 25. During this time, patrons wishing to pay their fines using cash or check may do so.
