Ann Arbor-based green design, building and remodeling company, Meadowlark Builders, will be conducting tours of a “Deep Green” home under construction in Northfield Township. Guided tours will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 20 – 22, 2012.
The event is free; however, pre-registration is required by visiting www.behindthedrywall.com or by calling 734-332-1500. The number of attendees is limited and spots are filling up quickly so please register soon.
This is the eighth tour of its kind and it has historically proven to be very popular. “This tour attracts a wonderful cross-section of attendees. From building professionals who want to be educated on the latest in green technology, to the person interested in how they can make their home more energy efficient, to the curious neighbor; these tours have always been well attended regardless of the weather,” says Doug Selby, President of Meadowlark Builders. “If you are looking for chic décor and elegant furnishings, this is not that kind of tour. However, if you want to be able to see what makes up the inner workings of a super energy-efficient home, then you will find this tour fun and enlightening.”
The tour will showcase a variety of the latest cutting-edge green design and building strategies, including geothermal heating and cooling systems, advanced indoor air quality techniques, advanced thermal wall and roof envelopes, and Not-So-BigTM and “long life – loose fit” design principles.
