GreeningDetroit.com among other companies will be awarded and recognized on April 18th, 2012 for having demonstrated the unique efforts and leadership skills in “Green Initiatives”.
The awards program honors companies from all industries that are focused on being more sustainable, improving the lives of their employees, and are committed to the local and global environments. The 101 Best & Brightest Sustainable Companies is co-presented by Corp! Magazine, Davenport University, and dmStrategists. The event is being sponsored by Grand Rapids Business Journal, WOOD Radio, WJR 760 AM, DTE Energy, Comcast Business Class, Cascade Engineering, and ITC Holdings.
GreeningDetroit.com was evaluated and examined by the Center for Research and Service (IIT) and Davenport University. The process was reviewed by the Board of Directors and the Event Board of Advisors to ensure all criteria is adhered to. Modern statistical analysis was used to examine efforts. GreeningDetroit.com endured an extensive survey on their green and sustainability practices. Supporting articles were requested to accompany certain survey responses. The survey was examined for quantitative data and scorings. The data was than submitted to a volunteer panel of judges from Davenport University to examine, collect statistical data, and apply qualitative scores. In all categories the 101 winners are further analyzed for Elite recognition. The judges look for unique and creative thought processes with support from senior management and policy makers. Adaptations to various new factors in the marketplace were weighed. (See below for the complete list of winners.)
