New Report: Global Warming Pollution Avoided and Water Saved by Wind Power.
What: Environment America will release a new report that quantifies the environmental and public health benefits of wind power for the United States as a whole and for each state, including global warming pollution avoided and water saved. The report also estimates these benefits through 2016 if wind development continues at a pace comparable to recent years. The report comes in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, and as the fiscal cliff and the expiration of key tax credits for wind power are quickly approaching.
When: The full release and report will be available Wednesday, November 28th, 2012. Environment America’s clean energy advocate Courtney Abrams will also be available for interviews.
Environment America is the federation of 29 state-based, citizen-funded environmental advocacy organizations working toward a cleaner, greener, healthier future.
