The Dearborn Animal Shelter has an overflow of animals as the holiday season is in full swing. December is commonly a peak month of the year for families to bring new pet family members into their homes and the Shelter hopes to encourage them to consider adopting a homeless animal.
There is a full range of adoptable animals in the care of the Shelter, from puppies to mature dogs and young kittens to mature cats. There are mix breeds and even pure breeds that can be found for those looking for a new pet family member. To help encourage adoption, the Shelter is offering a Home for the Holidays special from December 18th through December 22nd . The Home for the Holidays special includes discounted adoption fees, a free bag of pet food and a voucher of $50 toward your next veterinary visit with the new adopted pet. The discounted fees are $15 off any cat or kitten adoption and 50% off any dog/puppy adoption fees.
Executive Director, Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter, Elaine Greene explains, “Even with the help of many foster families assisting with the large number of animals in our care, there is truly no more room at the Inn. We truly would love to see as many of the animals as possible in a Home for the Holidays and hope this special offer will help”.
Many of the current adoptable pets can be viewed online, but there are also some that are not yet on the website and can be viewed in person by visiting the Shelter.
