The 2013 Manufacturing Leadership Summit will take attendees on a bold journey by exploring breakthrough ideas in how to lead, organize, and empower manufacturing enterprises today and beyond. The theme for this year’s Summit, which will take place May 14 to 15 at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Fla., is “Bold Ideas for a Better Future.”
“History is full of examples of ‘golden’ companies that tarnished quickly when a technology shift or business model change occurred,” said Manufacturing Leadership Council Global Vice President and Editorial Director David R. Brousell. “Unless you have a ‘radar’ system to warn about what is coming, the next disintermediation is just around the corner. It is critical to have the right manufacturing strategies in place in order to not only survive, but to flourish.”
Conference attendees will be exposed to new ways of conceiving and building products, finding markets for them, interacting with customers, and using advanced technologies. In addition, conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops that will enable them to go back to their companies with practical information that they can put to work at once.
Topics to be discussed at the event include 4D and 3D printing, strategies for global manufacturing, innovative design concepts, the future of the Internet and global connectivity, adaptive robotics, advanced material technologies and many others.
Speakers from a variety of industry sectors will be featured including Diana Tremblay, vice president, North American manufacturing, General Motors; Rodney Brooks, chairman and chief technology officer, Rethink Robotics; and David Frigstad, chairman of the board, Frost & Sullivan.
Additionally, the Manufacturing Leadership Summit will provide executives with networking opportunities that matter, including one-to-one meetings (a series of meetings between premier sponsors and attendees in a speed-networking format); Think Tank sessions, at which manufacturing executives interact and brainstorm ideas on key industry issues; Manufacturing Leadership (ML100) Award case study presentations; and a networking reception to maximize interactions among attendees.
