I thought you might be interested to know I recently added a section to my website aimed at providing information to help you better understand the new healthcare reform law and how it can help you and your family.
The Affordable Care Act offers needed improvements to our health care system and helps to make sure more Americans have access to affordable, quality healthcare. Importantly, the law provides an opportunity for the nearly 1.2 million Michiganians who do not currently have health insurance to obtain comprehensive, affordable coverage.
I have heard from a number of Michiganians who have contacted my office with questions about specific components of the law. While some of the provisions have already gone into effect, such as allowing young adults the option to stay on their parents’ health insurance until age 26 and requiring health plans to provide preventative care without co-pays or deductibles, many more aspects have yet to be fully implemented. With the full roll out of most of the most significant changes to our healthcare system in 2014, I encourage all Michiganians to take some time to learn about these new changes and how they may be impacted.
To help share this important information, I have put together a page on my website where you can find helpful resources I have aggregated from a number of reliable sources to help answer the questions you may have. I encourage you to visit.
