The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled “Solar Forecasting Metrics” today, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. During this webinar, the Department of Energy (DOE), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and IBM will describe and solicit input on preliminary statistical and economic solar forecasting metrics and on proposed processes to determine baselines and target values for the metrics. Register to attend the webinar. The Energy Department will also present a live webinar titled “The DOE Wind Vision” on Wednesday, February 19, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. This webinar will describe how the Wind Vision initiative will examine U.S. wind power research, development, and deployment with the intention of creating a new vision based on current market conditions.
