Jefferson East, Inc. is humbled and honored to be named a a finalist in the Knights Art Challenge, a community-wide contest in its second year of funding arts and cultural projects that engage and enrich Detroit.
If selected, the much-needed monies will be used to fund art projects and programming that transcend the symbolic and physical boundary of Alter Road, the borderline often cited as a social barrier from days gone by.
“We are excited about the possibility of using innovative arts programming to foster diverse and engaging cross-border interactions among residents of the Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood in Detroit and Grosse Pointe Park,” says Joshua Elling, executive director at Jefferson East, Inc.
