The Henry Ford College 23rd Annual Mike Adray Memorial Golf Tournament, presented by Enertron LLC in mid-May at the Dearborn Country Club, raised more than $41,000. Proceeds for this important event fund scholarships for deserving students in southeast Michigan.
The tournament is the HFC Foundation’s largest annual fund-raising event, bringing together community leaders, business professionals, alumni and friends, organizations and companies to support the academic endeavors of students seeking a college education.
Since 1982, the Foundation, along with friends of the College, have worked together to advance its mission of helping HFC students succeed. The Foundation has always relied on a network of supporters to meet these objectives: area businesses, companies and organizations; alumni and individuals; and, state and national foundations. To date, the Foundation has raised a total of $15 million for student scholarships, facilities and instructional technology over the past 30 years.
“I am very proud and humbled by the number of people who participated in this golf outing and provided scholarship money for students in the southeast Michigan area who would otherwise not be able to pursue higher education,” said A. Reginald Best, HFC vice president of development and director of the Foundation.
During the awards dinner, HFC President Dr. Stanley Jensen thanked the numerous sponsors and participants for their gifts and contributions. He also gave special thanks to the event’s major sponsors: Enertron LLC, which served as the Presenting Sponsor; and The Adray Foundation, which served as the Benefactor Sponsor.
“Once again, I am grateful by this outpouring of support from the community. It is through their efforts that many deserving students will be able to pursue higher education at HFC,” said Jensen.
With more than 18,000 students enrolled at HFC, the College offers an exceptional pathway for area residents to pursue their college education, as well as prepare for new positions in new industries and emerging fields.
