Noel Cuellar, President & Founder of Primera Plastics Inc., a Zeeland-based major plastics parts supplier to the auto and furniture industry that employs 150 people and has $20 million in annual sales. Founded in 1994, with just two injection molding machines and two employees, Primera Plastics now operates 30 presses out of their award-winning 106,000 square foot combined facilities located in Zeeland, Michigan.
Cuellar is dedicated to his local community and to the education of local students. He is a proud Holland High School graduate and he recently provided $10,000 in tuition grants for Holland and West Ottawa school students to attend summer school classes to stay on track to graduate. He spoke recently to 120 students at the start of the program and challenged them to get their education; “There’s nothing you can’t do with an education and not much you can do without one,” said Cuellar to students at Holland’s Van Raalte Tech School also adding: “Be the best you can be and if what you want is to be a factory worker then be the best factory worker there is.” The tuition grants are meant to help students make up lost ground in their core subject and motivate them to graduate. Classes kicked off Tuesday, June 17, and ran for six weeks ending in late July.
