The second of two tented Adopt-a-Thons this summer takes place on Saturday, August 16th from 10a.m.-4p.m. in the Westborn Mall parking lot, 23239 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Outer Drive. The Dearborn Animal Shelter plans to have 70 animals available for adoption in all shapes and sizes, kittens, cats, puppies and dogs, small and large.
Counselors will be on hand to help potential adopters find their new best friend, including a meet and greet area to get to know dogs a little better in a separate section. Attendees will enjoy reduced adoption fees, can shop Shelter merchandise and select from fresh Fido Bakery treats for their canine best friends.
Summer is a busy time for animal shelters, and there are many pets for families to consider. Elaine Greene, Executive Director, Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter, commented “Adopt-A-Thons help improve the potential for our animals to get adopted. This is the third year that Westborn Mall has hosted one for us and it is great place to feature many adoptable pets in a high profile location.”
This year, Lori Bennett, 96.3 WDVD midday on-air talent will be on hand from 11a.m.-1p.m. to greet attendees and welcome fans with a little music and fun.
