Another sponsor of this year’s Neighborhoods Day is the Starr Commonwealth children’s agency, which is hosting the first ever Art of Resilience Starr Summer Youth Festival at the Carr Center in downtown Detroit on Aug. 10. The day will feature numerous performances by youth groups in music, dance, theatre, short film, visual arts and written/spoken work. They are recruiting groups for the festival.
Groups interested in performing should submit an application at www.artofresilience.org, or phone, 313-923-7353. The youth festival is designed to promote positive stories that demonstrate the resilience of young people and the neighborhoods of Detroit.
