Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association, will honor Senator John Pappageorge (State Senator, District 13) with the Automation Alley Legacy Award in recognition of his exceptional support of Automation Alley and its members throughout his legislative career on Sept. 15 at Automation Alley Headquarters in Troy.
“Senator Pappageorge has been instrumental in ensuring Automation Alley’s sustainability as an organization,” said Automation Alley Executive Director Ken Rogers. “I have tremendous respect for his legislative work and appreciate his support as we continue to help drive economic prosperity for Southeast Michigan.”
The award presentation will coincide with the September installment of Automation Alley’s member-exclusive event “Trending Topics with Local Leaders,” Sept. 15 from 1-2 p.m., where Pappageorge, R-Troy, will field questions from the audience and share past and future highlights from the Capitol.
Looking back over multiple terms in the Michigan House of Representatives and the Michigan State Senate, Pappageorge will start with some of his legislative “war stories” before shifting to the future with his outlook for the state of Michigan.
In addition to multiple terms in the House and Senate, Pappageorge is also a decorated military veteran, having served 30 years of active duty in the Infantry, including two combat tours in Vietnam.
Trending Topics with Local Leaders is a year-long event series open to all Automation Alley members and features a different VIP guest for each installment. The series is sponsored by Hitachi Business Finance. The cost to attend is $10. Registration ends Sept. 11 at close of business. To register, visit automationalley.com.
