Join Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association, on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Troy for a lunch ‘n’ learn titled “The Price is Right: Are You Offering a Competitive Wage?” A compensation strategy is crucial for both attraction and retention of qualified talent.
This event, presented by Automation Alley’s Education and Workforce Committee and sponsored by New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, is part of Automation Alley’s “Michigan’s Got Talent” event series. Guest speaker Colby Spencer-Cesaro, research director at the Workforce Intelligence Network for Southeast Michigan (WIN), will discusses how small to medium-sized companies can attract and retain a highly skilled workforce by tapping into current salary market data.
“Employers are still telling us that they are having a difficult time finding qualified talent. It may be time to review whether your company is offering a competitive wage so you can attract that rock star candidate for your open position,” said Alysia Green, Automation Alley’s director of talent development. “A compensation strategy is also important for retaining your current employees, who may not stick around if they are not feeling valued.”
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with registration and networking, followed by lunch and the program beginning at noon. A Q-and-A period will follow from 12:45 to 1 p.m.
The cost to attend includes lunch and is $20 for members with pre-registration or $30 at the door. The cost for non-members with pre-registration is $40 or $50 at the door. Pre-registration ends Oct.17 at close of business. To register, visit automationalley.com.
