The Detroit Chinese Business Association returned to the fabulous TPC Michigan at 1 Nicklaus Drive in Dearborn, MI hosted their 19th Annual golf outing on September 18. They welcomed China’s Commerce Ministry who is aggregating a trade mission of 20 companies seeking collaborations and investments into green energy for automotive, mobility and transportation industries here in Michigan.
The Chinese Investment Promotion Agency leaders were greeted by 145 business and community leaders who joined the DCBA for a beautiful day of golf and delicious dining experience. International guests included honored officials and entrepreneurs from Chongqing and Hunan regions. The banquet included short presentations by Brian Connors of MEDC, representatives of Baker Tilly and this years Sponsor for the event, ACS of Michigan.
Other sponsors included the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, (MEDC), ACS Michigan, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, and Corrigan Air & Sea. GreeningDetroit.com was honored to be Media Sponsor.
This year the 2 day New Energy Global Mobility Event had the auditorium at full capacity at NextEnergy on Friday. The day was open to all businesses and included presentations by CEO NextEnergy Jean Redfield, CIPA, Hunan Province, Dean of Research Dr. NG of WSU, panels, and networking. Tours of the University of Michigan China US Clean Energy Center, (http://cerc-cvc.research.umich.edu), were included.
All in all, it was another step closer to having the Motor Metropolis become the North American Capital of China’s burgeoning automotive industry, as projected by The Chicago Federal Reserve, Bloomberg Businessweek, and The Detroit News, among others.
