Oakland County Commissioners Shelley Goodman Taub and Marcia Gershenson will host a special informational town hall meeting on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., at the Bloomfield Township Hall, in the auditorium, located at 4200 Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township, Michigan.
Speakers will include Oakland County Chief Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson, who will provide a PowerPoint presentation and discuss the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department. He will also speak on the creation of the new Great Lakes Water Authority and what it means for Oakland County residents.
Residents will have an opportunity to ask questions to get a clear understanding about the proposed Great Lakes Water Authority
The public is encouraged to come ready to participate as this will be an interactive session with county leadership.

The meeting will be held in the Community Room on the first floor of the library.

“Detroit Water and Sewer has had a multitude of financial problems for years and the recent proposal will affect everyone, whether you have city water and sewer or your own well and septic. The Town Hall meeting will give rate-payers the opportunity to become better informed as well as voice their concerns,” stated Oakland County Commissioner Kathy S. Crawford, who represents the cities of Novi and Northville and Novi Township in District #9.
Commissioner Christine A. Long represents the City of Walled Lake, Commerce Township, West Bloomfield Township, and the Village of Wolverine Lake in District #7.
