Cool Cat Casino Night, a fun-filled evening out for gamers and non-gamers alike is a casino style party to benefit homeless animals in the care of the Dearborn Animal Shelter. This Hawaiian-themed event puts all the cards on the table, including Texas Hold’Em, Black Jack and Let it Ride.
Casino Night runs 7 p.m.to midnight on Saturday, February 21st, and takes place at O’Kelly Banquet Hall, 23663 Park Street in Dearborn. All games feature cash payouts.
Three lucky winners will also take home some “cool cash.” This year’s Cool Cat raffle features three cash payout prizes: $750, $500, and $250. The raffle is generously subsidized by The Envelope Printery, and owner Dave Hamilton. A maximum of 2,000 raffle tickets will be sold for the drawing. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased during Casino Night, or in advance at the Dearborn Animal Shelter. Participants need not be present at Casino Night to win.
The Cool Cat Casino Night tickets include an open bar, bountiful buffet, and hourly door prizes. The centerpiece of the luau spread will be a taco bar with all the sides (vegetarian, too) made possible by the Dearborn Heights Del Taco.
Tickets for this adult-only event are $30 in advance at the Shelter or online, $35 at the door. Cool Cat is often a sell-out evening, so don’t delay. Sponsorships for Casino Night are also still available. Beginning at just $250, a business can “own & creatively promote” at gaming tables, plus receive complimentary tickets to the event. For more information, call the Shelter directly.
According to Elaine Greene, Executive Director, Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter, “Cool Cat fans tell us each year that they enjoy this casual night out so much, as a way to take a break from the winter blues and turn some of that fun into “green”. It helps the animals in our care and is also special for raffle and card playing winners too”.
