Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association, has been invited to Washington, D.C. to represent the Southeast Michigan business community at the 2015 SelectUSA Investment Summit, March 23-24. Ken Rogers, Automation Alley’s executive director, will speak on the “Business Accelerators and Innovative Work Environments” panel on March 24.
The SelectUSA Investment Summit provides an unparalleled opportunity to bring together investors from across the globe, economic development organizations from every corner of the nation, high-level government officials, and other professionals to facilitate investment in the United States. In 2013, the summit attracted representatives from more than 60 countries. This year, the summit is expected to double in size, attracting an estimated 2,500 attendees.
“What an honor to be invited to the SelectUSA Investment Summit to speak on business attraction and foreign investment to more than 2,000 global investors, and to do so as a representative of the Southeast Michigan business community,” Rogers said. “I’m looking forward to sharing with a national and international audience how Automation Alley has successfully attracted international companies and investment to our region. It is my intent to connect with government representatives and other economic developers to describe a Michigan on the rebound. We are the comeback state and the world has discovered the opportunities that result from that kind of economic vitality. The goal is to continue to attract jobs and investment to our region and state.”
In addition to Rogers, the panel will include:
• Alfredo Coppola, Co-Chief Executive Officer, USA Market Access
• Todd Hardy, Arizona State University, SkySong
• Jose E. Martinez, San Antonio Free Trade Alliance
Automation Alley is consistently invited to represent the region’s technology and business communities on a national level, including three invitations to the White House to meet with President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama.
