LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Economic Development Corporation today announced that two companies were approved for incentives by the Michigan Strategic Fund to support their expansions in Southeast Michigan. The projects are expected to generate more than $9.3 million in investments and create 190 new jobs.
“The decision by these companies to expand in Michigan demonstrates our state’s greatly improved and diverse business climate,” said MEDC Chief Executive Officer Steve Arwood. “We’re pleased to support these projects, which will mean more jobs and greater economic opportunities for people in Southeast Michigan.”
Sanctus, LLC (dba Shift Digital), headquartered in the city of Birmingham, is a digital marketing and technology solutions company that services automotive clients. The company has secured new contracts and plans to expand in new offices in downtown Birmingham. The project will generate a total capital investment of nearly $2.3 million and create 93 jobs, resulting in a $465,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Michigan was chosen over a competing site in California. The city of Birmingham has offered support to the project in the form of a recruitment venue for an event related to the project.
TI Automotive, headquartered in Oxford, England, is a leading global supplier of automotive fluid storage, carrying and delivery technology. The company traces its Michigan heritage back to the Bundy Corporation, which was founded in 1922 to provide fuel lines to the Ford Model-T. The company has several facilities in Michigan including a technical center for fluid systems technology in Auburn Hills, along with manufacturing operations in Caro, Cass City, Hillsdale, Marysville and New Haven. TI Automotive has leased a new build-to-suit facility that will consolidate its corporate offices in
Auburn Hills, investing more than $7 million and creating 97 jobs. As a result, the company has been awarded a $500,000 MBDP performance-based grant.
