Automation Alley, Michigan’s largest technology business association, is launching an Innovation Lab on the campus of Oakland University this fall, providing an up-close-and-personal look at the technologies shaping the future of advanced manufacturing. Automation Alley is inviting the public to attend a free Innovation Lab Open House on Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Innovation Lab, located inside Automation Alley’s Technology Center at OU INC, showcases emerging technologies at every stage of manufacturing, from concept and design to service and disposal. The lab also features additional technologies, including 3D printing and scanning, and collaborative robotics.
Alex Violassi, director of Automation Alley’s Technology Center, says the goal is to create awareness and spark an interest in the latest emerging technologies, which is critical to both profit and the growth of small and medium-sized businesses across Southeast Michigan.
“Last year, we opened the Automation Alley Technology Center at Oakland University, partnering with leading manufacturing and software companies, to provide affordable training to individuals, students and businesses professionals on the latest digital design and manufacturing software available,” Violassi said. “The opening of the Innovation Lab will further enhance what we are doing at the center, offering product demonstrations of the latest advanced manufacturing tools and technologies available today.”
Representatives from Automation Alley Technology Center partner companies will be on hand to answer questions about the technologies and equipment on display at the Innovation Lab Open House. Light refreshments will be served.
There is no charge for this event, but kindly register your attendance by close of business on Oct. 13.
The Automation Alley Technology Center at OU INC is located at One Golfview Lane in Rochester.
