June 24 – 25, 2016, at the Ingham County Fairground, Mason, Michigan
Do you, your company, or organization have a topic you would like to present at the Sustainable Living Summit 2016? We are now calling for quality presentations that will fit our format. Since this is a ‘Michigan centric’ event we prefer local academia, businesses, non- profits, civic organizations, and local elected officials (or candidates) to participate in the forums. There is no compensation, however each presenter will receive local, regional and perhaps national recognition and a copy of the video. Priority will be given to businesses and organizations that are also paid sponsors.
Program Format
A series of up to nine ‘forums’, with 4-5 speakers in each forum and a moderator will address the following topics below. The moderator of each forum will introduce the topic and each speaker, allowing each speaker 10 – 12 minutes to introduce themselves; their mission, product, service, or policy position. Once the introductions are complete the moderator will ask a series of relevant questions to the panel and open discussion to the audience. The venue holds approximately 300 people and each forum will be video recorded for future broadcast.
The forum topics include;
• Renewable Energy
• Energy Efficiency
• Alternative Transportation
• Sustainable & Local Agriculture
• Green Building & Construction
• Health & Wellness
• Environmental & Social Responsibility
• Sustainable Economic Development
• Sustainable Communities
These forums are a highlight of the Michigan Energy Fair, allowing attendees to learn about a wide variety of topics and network with leaders in their fields. We encourage interactive presentations via power-point. We expect the forums to be well attended. We will encourage attendees to register in advance online because of limited space. We will also allow admission at the door if space allows.
We will prove a podium, overhead projector and screen. Experience shows it is best for you to bring your presentation on a thumb drive so we do not have to change equipment. We recommend that you bring any printed materials which support your presentation and you would like included in the program folder handed out to attendees. We will also make your presentation available online. GLREA will have feedback forms available at each session. You will be contacted by May 7, 2016 if your presentation is selected and notified of date and time of your presentation. Each presenter will be supplied with a laptop computer, projector and screen.
