LA Comes to the D on Saturday, April 23, when GreenSpace Cafe hosts former Detroiters Jason Wrobel and John Salley at a book release and wine social from 4 until 6 pm.
As guests mingle and enjoy fresh, artisanal plant-based snacks and drinks, celebrity chef and TV host Wrobel will discuss his just-released first book, “Eaternity: More Than 150 Deliciously Easy Vegan Recipes for a Long, Healthy, Satisfied, Joyful Life.” Former Detroit Piston, NBA champ and wellness advocate John Salley will also be on hand to meet, greet and give a short talk in advance of his presentation at VegFest the next day. Guests will enjoy Salley’s Vegan Vine wine along with the handcrafted cuisine of GreenSpace Cafe that has drawn crowds since the restaurant opened in December.
According to GreenSpace owner and plant-based cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn, “Jason and John are two of the most enlightened, entertaining and energizing people in the world of true wellness. Our only concern is that GreenSpace might not be big enough for all that talent and personality!”
Tickets are $75 per person. In addition to buffet snacks and drinks, each guest will receive a signed copy of Wrobel’s book, “Eaternity.” An optional $25 upgrade includes a signed bottle of Salley’s Vegan Vine wine.
Net proceeds from the event benefit SASHA Farm Animal Sanctuary.
The event is expected to sell out. Purchase tickets in advance by calling GreenSpace Cafe at 248-206-7510, or in person after 4 pm Tuesday-Saturday at 215 W. Nine Mile Rd. in Ferndale.
