Henry Ford College (HFC) Cisco Networking Academy Program will host its 10th Annual Michigan Academy Olympics – a “Meet & Compete” event – on Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on the first floor of the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC), Building L on the main campus.
At the Academy Olympics, 16 teams comprised of up to six students (who will be assigned to a team at check-in) will participate in the following activities:
Cable Making;
Router Configuration/Troubleshooting;
Quiz Bowl; and
“A Day in the Life of a Network Engineer.”
Listed below is the schedule of activities for the Academy Olympics:
8:30 to 9 a.m.: Check-in for students, judges and volunteers/continental breakfast;
9 to 9:20 a.m.: Welcome Remarks & Orientation in the Forfa Auditorium;
9:25 to 9:40 a.m.: Team ice-breaker/judges meeting;
9:45 to 10:25 a.m.: Rotation No. 1;
10:30 to 11:10 a.m.: Rotation No. 2;
11:15 to 11:55 a.m.: Rotation No. 3;
Noon to 12:40 p.m.: Lunch;
12:45 to 1:25 p.m.: Rotation No. 4; and
1:30 to 2:15 p.m.: Closing Remarks/awards ceremony/door prizes in the Forfa Auditorium.
During this event, students will also have the opportunity network with CISCO alumni and explore summer internship possibilities.
