Save the date for the first ever agricultural plastics recycling discussion in Michigan, co-hosted by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) and Missaukee Conservation District.
Whether it’s used for silage, mulch, greenhouse, drip irrigation or other purposes, agricultural plastic is a problem to be dealt with. Annually Michigan dairy farmers generate 3.28 million pounds of agriculture film and vegetable producers’ lay about 10,000 acres of black plastic mulch. The majority of this material is currently being sent to landfills and, in many cases, illegally burned or buried.
Join us on February 14, 2017, to hear international keynote speakers and representatives of the plastic industry give an overview of successful recycling programs in states such as Wisconsin and Arkansas. Learn how to successfully turn agricultural plastic into a viable commodity that can used to manufacture new products.
