NAIAS will become a powerful teaching tool, immersing students of all ages – from pre-K to college level – into the world of vehicle technology, engineering and design at tomorrow’s NAIAS Education Day (Jan. 18) and Thursday’s Preschool Education Day (Jan. 19).
NAIAS Education Day, presented by Ally and sponsored by Shell and U.S. Army Recruiting, will give students an in-depth look at the industry through tours hosted by experts in their fields, hands-on activities at exhibits and a wide range of career-based presentations.
Preschool Education Day, hosted by the PNC Foundation in support of Grow Up Great, its $350 million multi-year bilingual initiative in early childhood development, will feature a coloring contest, an Arts and Scraps project, a parade of cars and teachers and other age-appropriate workshops. The focus of activities will be on science, technology, reading, engineering arts and mathematics (STREAM) education.

Wednesday, Jan. 18 –
Opening remarks at 9 a.m. by Brig. Gen. Donna W. Martin, U.S. Army Recruiting Command Deputy Commanding General Operations.
NAIAS Education Day partner Ally hosts sessions on credit and auto financing as part of its Ally Wallet Wise free financial education program at 10 a.m.
Ally – through its involvement with the Michigan Council of Women in Technology – is helping to prepare the next generation of technology talent by sponsoring 45 young women from the Detroit International Academy for Young Women to attend Education Day at NAIAS.
Six-time Top Fuel World Champion Drag Racer Clay Millican will be at DENSO’s exhibit, sharing safe driving tips with students and showing off his top fuel dragster.
Thursday, Jan. 19 –
