MEEA Webinar: Energy Management Systems and the Smart Energy Analytics Campaign

Join MEEA and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Affiliate Hannah Kramer, P.E. for an overview of Energy Management Information Systems (EMIS), including their capabilities, management and usefulness for commercial building management professionals. Ms. Kramer will also provide an overview of the Smart Energy Analytics Campaign, a new initiative of the U.S. Dept. of Energy aimed at providing building managers with free resources and technical assistance to install EMIS or get the most out of their current EMIS (including EIS or FDD systems).

MEEA Webinar: Bringing Net-Zero Energy to Public Buildings

Net-zero energy buildings are becoming more popular in discussions nation-wide. But how are they accomplished, and are they appropriate for publicly-owned buildings? This webinar will feature speakers from two net-zero energy public building projects in the Midwest, highlighting the reasons that they decided to go net zero, how they secured funding and what stakeholders were key in the process. National Energy Efficiency Registry

A set of draft principles and operating rules for the National Energy Efficiency Registry (NEER) were released in April 2017, and the document is open for public comment.

The NEER is a tool being jointly developed by several states along with The Climate Registry (TCR), the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), E4theFuture and APX under a competitive funding award from the U.S. Department of Energy. The NEER is aimed at helping states document the achievement of energy and environmental goals, disclose regulated entities’ compliance activities and drive voluntary investment in energy efficiency and energy and water conservation initiatives. The tool will facilitate the registration and tracking of energy efficiency projects and the issuance of tradable instruments based on savings.

STEP Program Completes 600 Walkthroughs

The Savings Through Efficient Products (STEP) program managed by MEEA has completed its walkthroughs for the most recent program year. STEP encourages public sector facilities to save energy by providing measures such as occupancy sensors, LED exit signs, LED lamps and more at no cost to the customer.

Lights for Learning Ends with a Bang

Lights for Learning is reaching the end of its last program year with almost 8,000 students served. The program provided free resources to educators in Illinois and helped encourage responsible, energy efficient behaviors in students.

Terry Fry Appointed to Lead Cadmus’ Energy Services
