Reading Teacher in the Library
DPL’s “Reading Teacher in the Library,” a free summer program that connects struggling readers in grades K-3 to certified reading specialists, will expand to several additional branches this summer. The program will be offered again at the Duffield and Parkman branches, and will be expanded to include the Jefferson, Conely, Wilder and Edison branches.
Young students are assessed by reading specialists who evaluate the obstacles that prevent them from reading at grade level. By working one-on-one and/or in small groups with the students, there is the opportunity to develop and strengthen reading skills.
