Informational, educational, and crowd-pleasing, the premier event of the 420 Canna expo at Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino hit the ball out of the park with its success of over 1000 attendees and vendors from across the state eager to inform the public and the many positive aspects of Michigan’s newest economic surge.
The idea to use the casino was a strategic and intelligent move by the events team – hold something educational and free to the public as a taste of what is to come – curious newcomers to low key growers were among the throng of people to move through the doors and venture into the unique experience of cannabis as an ‘outed’ business.
The medicinal cannabis industry has been in the spotlight for several years within the state, leaving several local municipalities at odds with themselves and their neighbors as to whether or not to opt in or out of what could be considered an economical upside or downside depending on those perspectives of the councils and people’s within the cities or townships borders. The staggering shifts in laws and emergency rules dictated by LARA have opened enormous but complicated opportunity for those interested and the profitability of the businesses that stem from or support the industry itself.

The recounting of Jayden’s tribulations before his mother’s brave decision to use medicinal cannabis treatment had attendees at the edge of their seats, while Dawn Ann’s experience with breast cancer was sure to change many minds among skeptics.
