The collaborative workspace for the Interior Designers Coalition For Change, (IDCFC), District 2030 Detroit Chapter, and the American Society of Interior Designers held its Grand Opening Wednesday, November 13th, celebrating and recognizing it’s contributing members and volunteers. The new office space was decked out by companies such as Office Furniture Solutions, Divide By Design, and award winning Designer, Harrell Scarcello, among others. The expansion of the services to both clients and students alike will bring new and exciting concepts to the area.
The office site, located at LTU Enterprise Building #18, Ste. 110
21411 Civic Center Drive in Southfield will welcome the University’s students to collaborate on live projects as a part of their curriculum. Volunteers Charlie Klecha who plans events for the IDCFC, and USGBC Board Member and Ambassador for District 2030 Bob Bedzyk, who lends his Civil Engineering background to the projects, were on hand to see that the event ran smoothly and people were welcomed inside.
Most excited of all were Executive Directors Connie Lilley of District 2030 and Carolyn Dwyer of IDCFC. Their smiles were contagious as the evening moved on to recognition and the giving of certificates of appreciation and the ribbon cutting.
The IDCFC Mission is to provide interior design services to communities and individuals where there is a need and resources are limited.
The vision of the 2030 Districts Network is to establish a global network of thriving high performance building districts and cities, uniting communities to catalyze transformation in the built environment and the role it plays in mitigating and adapting to climate change. Each District commits to meeting 50% reductions in energy, water and transportation related emissions as established by Architecture 2030 in its 2030 Challenge for Planning.
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) advances the interior design profession and communicates the impact of design on the human experience.
We collaborate with others to promote the value of interior design. We prepare our members to excel in a dynamic and evolving profession. We generate, collect and disseminate applied knowledge.
