Henry Ford Community College’s (HFCC) independent, alternative radio station WHFR (89.3 FM) will host “The Festival of Enlightenment Holistic Fair” on Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student and Culinary Arts Center, which is located on the main campus.
Several special guest speakers will give lectures throughout the afternoon on various holistic and metaphysical topics. Additionally, attendees receive one-on-one access to some of the best holistic experts in the area. The guest speakers include:
- Carole Lynn Hovsepian – usui reiki master and medium;
- Versandra Kennebrew – life empowerment coach;
- Darlene Denning – teacher, psychic, palm reader; and
- Tiffany Anton – sex therapist.
Staff member Mike Holloway, host of the monthly WHFR talk show “Metaphysically Speaking,” created the idea for the holistic fair to provide much-needed funds to support WHFR’s operational costs, as well as bring the top holistic vendors to the area for all to experience. Healthy snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. Parking is free. Admission is $5 (a donation to non-commercial WHFR) or FREE with a valid student or staff I.D.

About WHFR
WHFR Radio is the alternative, eclectic non-commercial broadcast and Internet station that operates out of Henry Ford Community College. WHFR’s mission of playing music and providing talk programming that is little-else heard on Detroit radio due to its local, independent and alternative angle fits well with the holistic attitude of the upcoming fair. WHFR receives a small budget from Henry Ford Community College, but relies on listener and donor support for 60 percent of its annual operating costs. All funds raised at the fair go directly toward WHFR’s operating budget.
