Henry Ford Early College (HFEC) – a collaboration between Henry Ford College (HFC), Dearborn Public Schools and the Henry Ford Health Systems (HFHS) – earned a rank of 124th out of the top 500 schools in Newsweek’s America’s Top High Schools list for 2015. In addition, the HFEC is ranked 4th in the top 10 high schools in Michigan on this list and earned a Newsweek Gold Star Rating for the achievement of HFEC students in poverty.More
People for Palmer Park (www.peopleforpalmerpark.org) had a successful fundraising event last Sunday, Aug. 23rd to restore stained glass windows of the former home of Senator and Mrs. Palmer’s 1880’s Historic Log Cabin. The home in Palmer Park is the last standing Log Cabin in the City and the non-profit 501(c)(3) is determined to restore the home to its former glory as a testament to the rich and storied history of Palmer Park and all who have enjoyed it since it became a 269 acre sprawling city park over 120 years ago. The other community event involving the Log Cabin home happens in June during Michigan Log Cabin Day, set to occur next June 26, 2016.
