Michigan Renewable Energy Fair is almost here! June 26 & 27 at the Ingham County Fairgrounds. Skip Pruss, former Director of the Michigan Dept. of Energy, will speak at noon on Saturday and Sen. Gary Peters has also been invited to speak. Patrick King, VP for Channel Sales for Suniva, will be the noon keynote speaker on Friday. Tom Wind, a national expert on Community Wind from Iowa, has been added to the Saturday workshop schedule.
The Michigan Solar Users Network (MiSUN) kick-off meeting will be held on Saturday at 11 am. A new monthly opportunity presents itself through a reformatted Pinnacle Group which only seeks C-Suite executives or business owners to help one another and contribute to good causes too. The event at Triple Nickel in Birmingham last Thursday evening provided the perfect setting for members and guests to enjoy old friends and new acquaintances in a relaxed and “happening” setting. “Don’t take any wooden nickels” was the secret code to gain entrance and enjoy the great appetizers and cocktails, music and cool breezes on the top floor of this new restaurant in the 555 Woodward Ave. building. The sounds of Cool Music by renown vocalist Shirley Hayden of Funkadelic fame, saxophonist Richard Adams, Ernest Walker on trumpet, and incomparable jazz guitarist, Jerome Clark was heard from the streets below through the open accordion-style windows of the restaurant and set the energetic tone for the evening. Restaurant Manager Zoran spoke about the concept of the six week old venue and showed why owners Marc and Trina Blancke’s new Triple Nickel is destined to be part of the Birmingham scene long into the future. Pinnacle Group owners Ron Vaughn and Stephan Sadler explained the groups’ purpose and goals. More
