MEECA Event Highlights The Whitney Restaurant’s Recent EE Makeover

On May 10th MEECA hosted a reception at The Whitney, a National Historic Landmark on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. Nearly forty people gathered to network with fellow energy efficiency professionals. They also learned about the 120-year-old building’s recent renovation featuring multiple energy-saving measures. As one of the first states to allow self-driving vehicles on public roadways, Michigan is a national leader in connected and automated vehicle (CAV) projects.

On May 30, Gov. Rick Snyder announced an $8 Million Michigan Mobility Challenge grant initiative to address core mobility gaps for seniors, persons with disabilities and veterans across the state.More

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has released the DRAFT 2019 Michigan Ambient Air Monitoring Network Review for public comment. Clean Energy, Healthy Michigan Announces Breakthrough Agreement with DTE Energy and Consumers Energy to Bring more Clean Energy to Michigan

Clean Energy, Healthy Michigan has reached an agreement with energy companies that will make the state a leader in clean energy. Clean Energy, Healthy Michigan joined DTE Energy and Consumers Energy in announcing the energy companies will target a goal of at least 50 percent clean energy by 2030, to be achieved through a combination of investments in at least 25 percent renewable energy, and the remaining through energy efficiency. The agreement will represent an increase in the use of clean energy in Michigan.

The Detroit Board of Water Commissioners (BOWC) will host its fifth evening community meeting on Wednesday, June 20 at the Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church, 8625 East Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, MI 48214. This meeting will serve as a public hearing on the proposed Detroit water and sewer rates for July 2018 – June 2019 (FY2019).
