Last Thursday, April 20th, EcoWorks hosted their Earth Day Happy Hour fundraiser at MotorCity Wine. The fundraiser was to support Project Green Home Detroit, an initiative to help homeowners in Detroit save money and live more sustainably by making their homes more energy efficient. What’s better than an evening filled with celebration, wine, good company, and support for a great cause? On Thursday April 20th, EcoWorks, an award winning nonprofit that has been doing community building and sustainability work in the city of Detroit for over 35 years, will host their Earth Day Happy Hour fundraising event. The fundraiser, which will take place at MotorCity Wine in downtown Detroit from 4:30-8:00pm, is to support Project Green Home Detroit 2017, an initiative to help homeowners in Detroit save money and live more sustainably by making their homes more energy efficient. More

The Heart And Spirit Of Sustainability Highlighted At Eco-Works Celebrated 8th Annual Breakfast Award Ceremony

Eco Works 35 logoThe team at Eco-Works proved themselves bravely faithful and worthy of the 35 year anniversary it celebrated at the Detroit Yacht Club last Friday. Centering the celebration around the Spirit of its people, partnerships, and mission, the Sustainable Community Champion Awards Ceremony held a far different energy this year. An honest, personal, and commitment filled thread weaved its way through the program in a rare and courageous way that left the attendees inspired and motivated for the future growth of not only the city, but the nation as a whole on it’s determined path for a sustainable tomorrow.

Held each year at the Detroit Yacht Club, the peaceful and elegant entrance up to the second floor to watch the sun rise above the water was reason enough to attend. The history and original architecture of the event based facility included a buffet-style breakfast offering, spilling over and above the servicing warmers with something for everyone. White linened tables were embellished with signage for sponsor acknowledgement and green floral centerpieces, held in Reclaim Detroit wooden vases. New faces were sprinkled in with veterans of the breakfast, all in anticipation of seeing the awards presented and keynote speaker Winona LaDuke.More

Eco Works 35 logoEco-Works is looking for candidates who have shown leadership in energy efficiency and/or sustainable building practices!  If you know of anyone who fits this description, honor them with a nomination for the Sustainable Communities Champions Award! The awards will be presented as part of EcoWorks Annual Breakfast on November 4th, 2016 at The Detroit Yacht Club!

Registration Deadline Nears for EcoWorks 7th Annual Breakfast

September 11, 2015 – The deadline to register for the EcoWorks 7thAnnual Breakfast, featuring keynote speaker Jennifer Granholm, is fast approaching.
 
The breakfast is set for Sept. 18 from 7:30-10:00 am at The Detroit Yacht Club, 1 Riverbank Drive, on Belle Isle. More than 150 professionals from the energy industry, businesses, government, non-profits, financial firms, and the community are expected to attend. Registration for the breakfast is $75 per person; tickets are also included with event sponsorship packages.
