The state Senate passed Senate Bills 437 & 438 on Thursday 11/10/16 during the first day of the lame duck session. As reported in our October Newsletter, MEECA’s lobbying efforts helped to move the original proposal from eliminating the energy optimization programs to now include the following requirements:
The Michigan Agency for Energy (MAE) today issued a Clean Energy Manufacturing Roadmap, a collaborative effort between the state of Michigan and Northeast Ohio, which focuses on developing strategies for advancing the energy efficient building technology (EEBT) cluster and developing technology roadmaps for several energy intensive, clean energy manufacturing processes to reduce the energy cost of these processes.More

On almost a straight party line vote, the Michigan Senate Energy & Technology Committee voted Senate Bills 437 (S-‐3)and 438 (S-‐3) out of committee.More

As many of you know MEECA’s Executive Director, Brindley Byrd has been struggling with back problems for quite some time now. These problems unfortunately led to surgery last week resulting in the cancellation of TMP Webinar 3. Brindley’s surgery was successful and he is now currently recovering.More

This event highlighted MEECA’s appreciation for the dedication of our original leaders and their commitment to getting MEECA off of the ground. These leaders have had a significant impact on Michigan’s energy efficiency industry.More
