IHC Incorporated in Detroit Receives Renewed “MSHARP” Certification
IHC Incorporated, a full-service aluminum coating facility located in Detroit, MI, was recently granted renewal of its Michigan Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (MSHARP) certification for outstanding workplace safety and health excellence from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA). The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) has opened three job postings for Workplace Safety Representatives (WSR). The positions are in Berrien, Cass, and St. Joseph Counties; Oakland County; and Wayne County respectively. A WSR (Safety Officer) inspects workplaces for compliance with occupational safety regulations. These are permanent, full-time positions. Candidates seeking a career in Michigan civil service are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any major. As an alternative to a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have an educational level typically acquired through completion of high school, AND 1) One year of responsibility for workplace safety in a general industry environment, or, 2) One year of experience investigating/inspecting industrial plants for compliance with occupational safety standards. It is helpful if the candidate has spent several years operating and/or repairing machines or equipment in an industrial setting.
