TRU
Change minds, change the world
James lives in the farmlands of Ortonville, only comes down to Detroit 2-3 times a year, and has never ridden a bus.
So it’s understandable that he didn’t really get why public transit should matter to him.
Then we talked about it:
– how paratransit might take his elderly aunt to the doctor and shopping,
– how he could park-and-ride to a Lions game or to the airport, and
– how the vibrant transit-friendly cities might keep his kids nearby instead of moving to Chicago (like his niece did).
Get office equipment/supplies AND help support Detroit Transit!
Know anyone who needs office furniture or supplies?
TRU is moving offices and we’ve got a bunch of great desks, white boards, file cabinets, file organizers, office supplies, and even some plants and vases. The whole list is available in a spreadsheet, with pictures for many items.
Transit Riders United Announces Big Changes and Opportunities
Ruth Johnson will be leaving TRU’s staff.
Ruth has been a strong champion for Detroit and Detroiters in her 7 years as TRU’s Assistant Director. Due to financial limitations, we must now let her go. Her last day will be June 15. Her experience and dedication will be sorely missed!
TRU will be moving offices.
In late June, we’ll move out of the Guardian Building into TechTown’s Junction 440. We’re excited to share their great building (located in Detroit between Midtown and New Center) with the 100 other great nonprofits, start-ups and companies. Stay tuned for details. (And let me know if you can volunteer to help us move – info@DetroitTransit.org!!)More
