Technology is rapidly advancing, and Coulomb Technologies, a leader in electric vehicle charging station infrastructure, is just one company that is evidence of that.
On Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, Coulomb Technologies will partner with NextEnergy to host a ChargePoint America Media Event, where government representatives and company executives will be present to announce the first ChargePoint America electric vehicle charging station in Michigan. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00a.m. at the NextEnergy Center, 461 Burroughs, Detroit, MI 48202.
The ChargePoint America program, which is sponsored by the Department of Energy and Coulomb Technologies, will place 4,600 charging stations in nine regions across the country.
ChargePoint America is made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the Transportation Electrification Initiative that was administered by the Department of Energy. The objective is to accelerate electric vehicle development and production in order to reduce petroleum consumption, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create jobs.
United States Senator Debbie Stabenow, Couloumb Technologies CEO Richard Lowenthal and NextEnergy President and CEO Ronald J. Gardhouse will all be present at the event. New electric vehicles from Ford and General Motors will be on display as well.
The event is open to the public.
