Holiday shoppers can snatch up bargains from local vendors and also support a local non profit as part of a December 10, 2011 fundraiser.
Dozens of local vendors will be on hand to sell their goods during The “SHARe in the Holiday Extravaganza” which will take place from 11am-5 p.m. at the Northwest Activities Center, located at 18100 Meyers Road in Detroit. Part of the proceeds from the event will go to SHAR Inc., a Detroit-based non profit organization which helps individuals break drug addiction and live productive lives.
“This event is planned not only to support SHAR, but just as importantly to afford local businesses an opportunity to showcase and sell their products,” said Pat Scott of SHAR, who organized the event. “It is so important to support our homegrown vendors.”
Vendors are from Detroit and the surrounding metro-Detroit area.
Founded in 1969, the mission of Self Help Addiction Rehabilitation is to transform individuals with addiction and co-occurring disorders into recovering people, capable of living a full and productive life. Through the treatment and other recovery support services delivered from 2 locations, SHAR serves approximately 2,500 individuals annually.
Vendors interested in participating may contact Scott at 313.894.8444, ext. 2207.
