As the U.S. Senate Finance Committee prepares to take up a variety of tax credits important to the advanced energy industry next week, a group of 28 Senators and 118 Members of Congress have signed on to letters urging Congress to extend the Production Tax Credit that expired at the end of 2013. At the same time, Michigan Congressman Dave Camp, who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee and had earlier outlined the structure for a comprehensive approach to tax reform, has suggested that the Ways and Means Committee will begin consideration next month of which tax provisions should be made permanent, a path that could open the door to extending or codifying the PTC and a broad range of other measures.
